<p>Most schools seem to require only one recommendation, much to my suprise (I've grown up thinking it was 2). So, to clarify after my sudden realization, the schools that 'require' one teacher recommendation only want one teacher recommendation correct? It's not the same like their 'required' coursework versus 'recommended'. (They don't say how many recs they recommend, and in cases they do they say 1)</p>

<p>You can rest assured that one means one when it comes to those teacher recommendations, although when it comes to those "optional" essays, they are only "optional" if you want to be accepted. ;) </p>
