Hi, I'm a Junior in high school. I am not really sure what types of colleges I can get into... I have always wanted to go to a school like Notre Dame but I'm not sure if I can get in. Now I'm thinking maybe Marquette but I want to go to the best school I can get into. I have done 4-5 Honors/AP every year, I'm ranked 20 in a class of 600, I have a 29/30 on my ACT. I'm on tennis, scholastic bowl, investment club and I started and am captain of the schools debate team. I am in NHS and hope to be VP next year. I am active in my church and youth group, and serve as a Eucharist minister and Usher. Should have good recommendation letters and I'm a good writer/interviewer. I got a 5 on my AP World Exam. I did two years of advanced honors foreign language, finishing at honors Spanish three. I was VP of my freshman class and led a Kairos Retreat as well. What types of colleges do you feel I am safe to apply to, and which ones are reach schools? Thank you for your time!

Your ranking is terrific. The ACT is meh for Notre Dame. The ECs are good; continue to perform in leadership roles. But what is the GPA and is it weighted or unweighted?

Sorry forgot to include, 4.3 Weighted GPA

Thanks for responding, it’s weighted, unweighted GPA is like a 3.6 or 3.7. Would you say marquette is a safe school and ND is a reach? My uncle went to ND and I had an extended relative who was a priest there a whole back

ND’s certainly a reach. Now if you were a priest, that might be a hook.

Lol not likely, thanks for responding though. Which schools would you say are safe schools? Marquette caliber sound safe?

Possibly, but try the SAT if your ACT is low.

check out Boston College, Villanova, UVA

Boston College actually is on my list! How much more/less selective is it than Notre Dame?

BC is less selective

Thanks for the input!
