college social life is a B****

I am talking 18 credits this second semester freshman year and they are mostly math and science courses. Last semester Fall 2010, I took 14 credits and my social life was pretty good the first few weeks then I met with the same guy everyday to study and hangout with. I got really annoyed by him by the end of the semester. The other kids that wanted to hangout with me partied all the time and i tried to avoid them because that was all they did. My GPA was a 3.8 but my social life was okay not what i wanted though.

So, pretty much how do i find kids that know how to party but can control themselves and have great study habits to maintain a high GPA. I want a group of motivated friends that are ambitious and smart but have the ability to talk to girls with out being a vagina and can have a fun night out.

I am asking for a smart but social and fun kid to chill with. LOL I know it's a lot. Where can i find these people.

It seems like a no brainer. Just party with those people that party all the time. You don’t have to party every single time they do…or do you?

Ya but if its hard to find friends that have the same motivation. IF i only hung out with those kids i would get suck into the party life because thats all they do. I had this problem in high school. I got stuck with the party kids and my grades suffered.

^you’d be surprised, a lot of the kids that party also care about their grades, you just have to talk to them outside of the weekend/party. I would start out looking for friends in academic clubs or jobs. Those people generally know what they want to do for life, but like to party/socialize as well.

You all make college sound so dreary.

Better than having an amazing social life and having a ****ty GPA.

I.E.: me. Hopefully this semester I’ll chill with the partying and bring up my GPA. Gonna be so hard with the weather starting to get nice and everything though … :[

HAHA yah man the weather does make it hard. Can’t wait for it though.

Have you tried out different clubs/student organizations? Usually, you can find some academic kids to hang around with so you can have a social life.
