College Sophmore retake SAT?

My question is could I retake the SAT as a sophomore in college and use those scores to transfer? My HS GPA was near perfect and I have a 4.0 at community college and I'll be getting my AS. My SAT was horrible though (1060/1600, 1480/2400) and I'd hate for that one test to ruin all my chances when those scores don't prove anything because I didn't finish it and I didn't retake it because I didn't need to for CC. I'm sure I could get near perfect scores if I retook it, but not sure if they'll care since I'm already in my second year.

Can I retake it? Should I retake it? Will they still consider the scores from a few years ago?

If you have the minimum credits to be a “transfer” you normally wouldn’t need SAT scores at all. But in that case, you won’t need your high school record normally, either.

So you have two options:

1.) retake the SAT and apply to your new school as a freshman (if you may do this depends on the school).

2.) Work your tail off in your current school and apply as a transfer without scores or HS GPA. Schools don’t care about SAT scores if you have a solid college record because the SAT was meant to tell them if you’d succeed in college.

Good luck.

It depends on what schools you’re interested in.

Well I’ll have 52 credits at the end of this semester so I’ll be transferring as a junior in the fall. I don’t think SATs should matter at this point, but certain schools like cornell, lehigh, and tcnj just to name a few require them whereas rutgers doesn’t. I’m thinking the schools that require them will just see my scores and throw my application out since these are competitive schools and everyone will have high scores.
