Check out college students’ most common complaints. https://insights.collegeconfidential.com/college-student-complaints
None are surprising, and I generally agree with @Dave_Berry’s responses, except for parking. If the college has sufficient public transportation and these are ADA compliant, I don’t see that students need to have on campus parking.
That seems a bit entitled and seems mostly focused on the wealthiest students who can afford to own a vehicle. I understand that there are older and working students who need to park, but most parking is used by wealthy students whose parents bought them a car for college. Moreover, in the college where I have worked, there are generally large parking garages for students at the edge of campus, where students can park and take the free campus transportation, or walk (at smaller campuses), so the issues is rarely parking , but rather parking which students consider convenient.
Parking is college dependent. At my D’19’s school in small town Missouri you will probably find that most students have a car. And they are not wealthy… DD’s dorm has parking right outside it but she didn’t move her Jeep for a month when she got a good spot- she found other people to take her to Walmart
Also most move off campus sophomore year and want to park on campus for the day. It can be a problem to find a spot and not be late.
And I have heard at our flagship the freshmen park at the stadium and then have to move their car every game day to somewhere they won’t get a ticket. What a pain.
Parking complaints may be more common and more valid for commuter students who make up most college students.
I agree that having to take mandatory/ prerequisite classes can be a waste of time.
But whining about walking through snow? Come on now.
