Let's get right to the point. My friend:

is a junior in high school

got a 34 composite on her ACT and something like a 1350 on her SAT (first tries)

earns a 4.0 unweighted GPA (don't know about weighted) under the hardest courseload available at our school.

has Asperger's syndrome that is rather severe. She has overcome much adversity. She will also need a lot of support at whatever college she goes to.

is a white Tennesseean of the middle middle class.

takes part in mundane ECs such as science club; she is hampered by her Asperger's in this area.

is a good writer.

is very, very liberal and identifies as "genderqueer."

is interested in biology as a major and archaeology or paleontology as a career.

suffers from bouts of severe depression for which she will need support.

is interested in Cornell, Sewanee, UGA, Vanderbilt, and the University of Tennessee. I think that most of her picks don't suit her (UGA is too big and too rowdy, Vandy and Sewanee are too conservative, and UT is a rock-bottom safety for someone with her stats), and I would like to be able to offer alternative suggestions.

says that she wants to stay in the Southeast, but may change her mind.

says that she will suffer in an environment where learning is not the top priority.

So...?
