Do they exist anymore in this day and age?
Any personal stories?
I have a sweetheart, but we've come a long way from what I wanted us to be originally (consistent hook-up).

I’m not exactly sure what a “college sweetheart” entails but I met my boyfriend the very second day I was here and we’ve been together ever since. We literally don’t see each other less than daily. I am a happy camper.

Yes, they do.
I’ve been with my “college sweetheart” since sophomore year when my high school sweetheart and I broke up. We live together and we’re happy as clams (I really don’t understand that saying…)

I know many couples who have been together for much of college.

I was with the same guy from freshman year to the summer after senior year. I thought we were going to get married, actually, but when I finished school and he started his 5th year he kind of went off the deep end… I still care deeply about him and that was a great time in my life, but I have moved on to better things. :)

It’s funny, I always hear about and even sometimes see people who are in committed, long-term relationships. Yet I never seem to meet a girl who wants one :smack:

Yeah, I find that being in a long-term couple is both awkward and rare in college.
It’s like, “So are you, like, bored of him yet?” “…No.” “Okay sooo are you still going to go out with us?”
We’ve been together for nearing 10 months so those questions have just stopped. The brain in love is a funny thing. I don’t know if I will end up married/engaged/whatever to him, but I wouldn’t mind if that were the result should he feel the same way. He’s my first love, though, and we are pretty good friends. I’d say that’s somethin’ worthwhile!
