College Testing Policies

I recently posted this in the Duke forum, but it applies to other colleges too, so i was wondering if you guys could help me out

Hi everyone, I have two questions:

1) The DUke website says that they will superscore the ACT, bu will not recalculate the composite score. Does that mean, for example, if I got 34R, 32E, 33M, and 33S for a composite of 33 and then the second time I got 35R, 33E, 34M, 34S, (composite 34) that they would use the 35R, 33E, 34M, and 34S but keep the composite score of 33?

2) Even though they say they want ACT or SAT with Subject Tests, is it possible to send in just the ACT and subject tests?

Thanks!

No. Your highest composite (34) will be used. Your example does not warrant any superscoring, as all scores from your second sitting are better than the corresponding scores from your first sitting. Superscoring only does anything if your highest scores in subject areas are not all from the same sitting.

If you haven’t taken the SAT, yes. If you’ve taken it and they allow score choice, yes. If you’ve taken it and they don’t allow score choice, I don’t know.
