Even at a highly regarded flagship university, there were lots of students who appeared to be academically lazy, choosing “easy” courses and majors to avoid intruding upon their social lives. In addition, there are also some pre-med or pre-law students who choose “easy” courses for GPA gamesmanship. Some of the more career oriented students in business or engineering would make similar selections, at least for out of major or breadth requirement courses.
