Now I have all the results, I want to visit several colleges so I can decide which one to go. Well, the problem is, I already have too many excused absences that I cannot miss a single day of school anymore:( So all I can do is visit colleges during weekends… But for most schools, tours are not provided during weekends… I wanted to listen to the lecture and etc., but I guess I can’t do that anymore:(
So, my quesstion is…visiting colleges during weekends…just to see the campus and feel the atmosphere of the school… is it worth it?
I got into all the schools that I never expected to get into and I’m really having hard time to decide which one to go (My choices are Cornell, Northwestern, JHU, CMU)

Do any of those colleges have Admit Days? On those days they would have special activities set up for admitted students, to help answer their questions. I think most colleges do have tours on Saturdays, too.

My son will be heading out to tour his top three choices. Two he will visit on weekdays. The third has a Preview Day on a Saturday; so he will also go to that. Would it be worth it to visit them all on weekends? Not for my son, as his main concern at the other two is the quality of the music program and how he gets along with the trumpet teacher, so he really needs to have a lesson and listen to a rehearsal.

Whether it is worth it depends on what you feel you need to know. If you know enough about the strengths of the colleges and are more concerned about feel and location, the visits might be worthwhile. Especially if you are friendly sort who can walk up to students and ask questions and get them to show you the dorms and talk about classes. Or if you can make arrangements to meet with a professor who doesn't mind a weekend visitor. I'm sure there are ways to work things out...

I can't speak for every college, but I know that Kenyon doesn't like to have weekend visitors, except for scheduled visit days.
There are no interviews on weekends, though there may be a few tours... I'm not too sure about that. There are no overnight visits unless you know someone on campus already. They're just afraid that your host will take you out and get you drunk.
I would call each school and explain your situation. Each school probably has a different policy, so find out what it is!
