If you are in high school in the US, your guidance counselor can help you with all of this. Make an appointment to talk about your options.

If you are in Israel, you need to talk with the counselors at the EducationUSA advising center in Tel Aviv [EducationUSA - Center Profile - U.S. - Israel Educational Foundation](http://www.educationusa.info/Fulbright-TelAviv) They will have good ideas for you.

You will need to take the TOEFL to show how well you know English. If you don’t have a Green Card, you will be an international student, so you will probably be considered an out of state student even in the state where you are living. Find out from your parents how much money they can pay for your education. It might be cheaper for you to go back to Israel for college.

no i am in america.
and i do have green card,
i passed the test ,
thats y im not in ESL program.
im just want to know if there any schools that will accept me
the guidance told me to not be warry but i am

Why not take a year off to learn English better so you can attend a good college?

hello pleaaas someone answer to me if i have any chance

im learning every day…
im even in a regular english class with other americans

since english is your second language, taking the TOEFL will help colleges understand your struggle with english, and hopefully they won’t count poor SAT scores against you. also, if it’s financially possible consider getting an SAT tutor to help you out since you’re worried about the test; i’m sure there are many tutors who help students struggling with english.

honestly, i don’t know anything about architecture schools, but try the college search on this website, searching for colleges with an architecture major (you can also go a college search through college board on their website). with your grades, you will definitely get into a college- the main thing to do is to find a list of colleges that you’re interested in and make sure that you find colleges where your scores are in range. for example, if you have an 86 GPA and a 1200 SAT, try to find a safety school where the average SAT is maybe around 900 and then look at match schools where the average students have your scores, and possibly find a reach where your scores are lower than usual but that might take your situation into account.

since your SAT scores seem like they’ll be low for your GPA (i’m assuming you’re talking about a 1200/2400, since a 1200/1600 would still be a good score), do you have a school counselor to talk to about what colleges to look at? someone who knows more about you and about people from different backgrounds getting into college will be a lot more helpful in answering your questions.

sorry that i don’t know about schools with architecture, but i hope i answered some of your questions :)

thnx
i think i took allready this test
and i do have a counslour to talk to
i tried to find in the super search
and it found some college
that saying that 80 % accepting
can i belive this information?

I have a friend who is an architect. He graduated from Roger Williams in Rhode Island. It is a very pretty campus located right on the water, and I don’t think extremely difficult to get in to, but a respectable school. Good luck to you!

BUT I HAVE A CHANCE???
what do u think i might found myself without the job that i want?
like without college…

the RWU is private
didnt answered my question…
i found some coleges and can u say how hard to get into ok?
the penn state university
and the north carolina university
pleas answer…

You asked for names of schools in your first post. Why didn’t you just name Penn State and N. Carolina if that is where you want to go? I don’t know about those.
Roger Williams is private, but it isn’t horribly expensive when you compare it to other private schools, and they are very, very friendly to international students. They have money to offer to international students. And, I think you could get in, even with a low SAT, especially if you take the TOEFL. That is what you asked for, right? Could you get in?
Don’t just focus on a couple schools. Private schools can be affordable, especially when they offer aid to international students. Also, Roger Williams has a who special program which could continue to help you with English, so that when you graduate you would be employable because people would be able to understand you in this country. Other schools might not help you in that area as much. Something to think about.

Don’t worry about trying to get into a college in America. Everyone can get into a college in America. Quite simply some colleges have 100% acceptance rates. However, if you want to get into a GOOD, respected college, you’ll really need to get your English SAT score up (and get a good math/ writing score of course). Not to be mean at all, but judging from your posts on this forum, I would not hesitate to take a year off before heading to college. You will see that you’re extra preparation in English will serve you will in college, which is very writing intensive. Are you a junior or senior? If you are a junior it is possible that you can get your scores up in time.

B’at Tslacha!

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Kansas State University and the University of Cinicinati have excellent Architecture programs. If you have a solid GPA (over 3.5), all you need is a reasonable SAT (600 on each section) to get in.

Of course, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell and Rice are quite possibly the top 3, but they are also more selective.

Do you have a good portfolio? A strong portfolio goes a long way, as does an essay that articulates your passion for architecture.

thnx for every body u really helped me…

danielia,

If you have been studying in English-language schools for fewer than five years, most colleges and universities in the US will require you to take the TOEFL or another English placement exam. Many ESL instructors (myself included) would encourage you to take the TOEFL if you have been studying in English-language schools for seven years. Placing out of your high school’s ESL class does not mean that you don’t need to take the TOEFL or another English placement exam for college. It just means that your HS believes that you can cope with their regular English classes.

Since you have a Green Card, you are eligible for federally determined (FAFSA) financial aid. Sit down with your parents and work through the http://www.ifap.ed.gov/efcformulaguide/attachments/101310EFCFormulaGuide1112.pdf</a> so that you know your family EFC. That is the minimum amount that your family will be expected to pay. Most colleges will expect them to pay more. You need to know just exactly where the money is going to come from for your education. How much can your family pay each year?

One of the public universities in the state where you are living probably offers Architecture. Find out what you need to do in order to be admitted to that program. If you don’t qualify yet, find out if there is a pre-Architecture program at your closest Community College. There probably is an articulation agreement between your CC and the public U that will let you transfer automatically into the Architecture program after you have taken the preliminary courses at the CC. This is a good way to work around any difficulty with your grades or exam scores.

Wishing you all the best!

daniela-
you asked whether or not to believe the 80% acceptance rate; while a few stats on those searches are wrong (it happens rarely), they’re generally reliable. if you want admissions information for a specific school, try going to their website. if you found schools that looked interesting on the search engine, check out their websites to get a better feel of their personality and their admissions. once you have specific colleges to look at, it’s pretty easy to go to their websites and find contact info, if you have questions to ask the colleges individually that will help you. good luck with your search! :)

but im not esl student,
