I just want to know if they are going to include different test.

I am going to be taking the SAT in October. But, I signed up for 5 AP courses in my school. So I wish to have time to complete those tests before school starts. :P

yes, it will include at least 3 new tests.
but if you have all the QAS tests, then you won’t need the book.

The 3rd edition has been put “on hold” (i.e., it isn’t known when or if it will be published). This delay and/or cancellation may be related to upcoming changes in the SAT.

@fignewton
isn’t the test going to change in 2014-15 season?

@fignewton & @drexter
An Official 3rd Edition Study Guide may be released before the test changes are applied to raise as much money is possible by selling texts relevant to the current format; I can see the six previously administered SAT tests being added to the 3rd Edition Blue Book potentially for this reason.

but all of the 6 tests are QAS tests. And other 4 might be the reprint of four tests from the 2nd edition.

Just my two cents: it seems like easy money.

@EdifiedLiterate

I agree with you, they will most likely publish this to extract some more dollars from the students. I don’t expect many of these tests to be knew, most of these will be older QAS tests. I am guessing the bulk will be just repetition of what is in the 2nd edition, may be the one on the DVD makes it to the print edition.

This is such a scam, Collegeboard needs to be forced to make all the QAS tests in pdf form available on their websites. Otherwise, people will scan and share them illegally giving certain groups of students advantage over others. Korea comes to mind.

Lets boycott this useless money-making scam of a book.

@IWillKillForMIT man, I doubt that anyone will ever listen to you. People will buy. because the book is “updated”.

Even a non-profit organization wants to get a few bucks out of students huh? And CB proposes a new SAT as soon as more students go for ACT…

We should seriously start a form of " petition " , the SAT is supposed to be based on “fairness” and " equality to obtain the same education " but the truth is various regions " out source " other regions. My friends have every single test from 2005 to 2013, and they all score higher than me. Im limited to only read the damn blue book.

College board is just trying to bang out a few million before they release a NEWER book for the new exam, which will sell, in all honesty, tens of millions.

Fairness is a common word. Why does CB use past test for internationals? I think CR is changing the test because they want to take over ACT. Funny that competition is everywhere.

Even though I don’t like the College Board that much, I actually would love it if the ACT was crushed into pieces by the college board. I did bad on the ACT so I am biased. But then again, that would end the spirit of competition and who knows what will happen to the SAT.

Boooooooooo

@EdifiedLiterate and @drexter : The College Board has announced that the SAT will be revised but the time frame hasn’t been set. The earliest possible dates for the revised tests would be the 2014 PSAT and the March 2015 SAT.

I talked with a College Board representative in early June. She told me that the third edition has been put on hold. She couldn’t tell me if this was just a delay or if the book had been cancelled.

This looks useless. A re-release whose only benefit is new tests that anyone serious already has. Weak from the ‘non-profit’ College Board. I’m sure they only decided to release this in the best interest of students everywhere.

@fignewton
Has there been revealed a latest possible date for the revised test to be administered?

@THWG2017
The test will be useful in many aspects, especially because it will provide new tests.
