colleges by the BEACHHHH!!

SO...i'm pretty much basing my college list on how close it is to a beach or how good of a nightlife it has.....does anyone have any suggestions of relatively big schools that possess either of these? SOME kind of reputation, even if just a little, would be good..... so far i have: columbia, usc, ucla, emory, ucsb, berkeley, univ of miami.....

THANKS

the three UC's that are nearly on the beach are San Diego, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz. Columbia?????

columbia for the nightlife lol

Columbia and Emory are NOT near the beach. If you're not from CA then the UC's might be difficult in terms of acceptance. If all you're looking for is a beach...go to Pepperdine. Malibu is gorgeous. The college is terrific. Not much of a night life, but the beach is great. As a parent, I would hope that my high school senior is looking for more than a beach and nightlife when going to college. If my student told me that was her criteria for college, I would suggest getting a job at Disneyworld.

Pepperdine, U of Washington (the ocean is cold, but a beach nonetheless)

UC IRVINE.....yahhh its like 15 minutes from the notoreous Laguna beach(not a big fan of the show but I LOVEEEEEEE THe place i've been going there since i was liek 2!

Eckerd College......St Pete FL
New College.....Sarasota FL
