<p>For international students that already are in the US universities, do you know if colleges you have applied to contacted your school or teachers that wrote you recommendations?</p>

<p>Yes, several of my colleges sent letters to my high school with my admission decision, and at least one sent “thank you for your recommendations” letters to my teachers. I guess that’s partially politeness, partially to make sure that I didn’t fake my transcripts and letters of recommendation.</p>
<p>I don’t think so. Time differences aside, calling teachers abroad would be difficult because (a) many of them don’t speak English and (b) it’s not like they’ve got a business phone number. What would they call them for anyway?</p>
