I hope you let us know if you have success negotiating scholarships--Of course, omit names if needed, but I'd like to hear your results. Some of us are in the same boat. Good luck!

mezzomom -- there's a PM reply for you.

Did your son get an acceptance letter for the Theatre BFA at U Miami?
We haven't heard yet.

Hey all,

I just got an acceptance letter for the University of Miami today. YAY!! I'm so excited..I wasn't expecting that!

I also just got a letter from Tisch inviting me to come to Saturday at the Square. I'm a little confused by this... people are saying that means I'm in... does that mean I'm in Tisch? I said "Cap 21 Only". WHat about getting in academically?

Any info you can give would be great!

Thanks!
Mychal

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

congrats on Miami All That Jazz!! You deserve it! We loved watching you this weekend..you were an awesome Peter Pan!

Interesting fact about BW... I just found out that this year they accepted someone who is currently in the European touring cast of The Who's Tommy. After finding that out, I am incredibly honored to be accepted along side accomplished actors like that. It's hard to believe that I was accepted sometimes, considering I have no professional experience and little outside of high school!

Allthatjazz-
Congratulations!!!! you are accepted into Tisch and NYU!!! That is part of what this event is about - some of the top students, academically, etc... recieve this invite. Check out the thread "Saturday at the Square" for more info. Your letter will come by April first and your studio assignment a week or so after. However, if you said Cap or nothing - rest assured it will be Cap!!!!! So congratulations.

Has anyone applied and been accepted to UCLA MT? What do you think about their program?

WE have not gotten a written confirmation from Miami yet

AllthatJazz
Did you get an acceptance to the musical theatre program at Miami??

I remember reading a LOOOONG time ago (probably over a year ago) that Megan Hilty (the Galinda standby for Wicked, soon to take over the role, only a year out of college) was originally waitlisted at CMU before being accepted. Can anyone confirm this?

Spoke to someone in Carnegie Admissions. She said the letters STARTED going out on Monday, but are continuing to go out. So apparently, all of the letters aren't mailed at the same time...

Thanks to everyone for the "congrats"! It's an exciting..and nervewracking...time for everyone, I know! :)

Marbare..yes, I did get into the Miami MT program....

I know everyone is still waiting on CMU! Good luck!

Allthatjazz,

Congrats on your wonderful news. Not sure if you have researched past postings, but one year ago at this time a poster by the name of Cate~ was accepted to Miami's MT program. Don't know if it's possible but you might be able to retrieve her email address from old postings. Just trying to help with a possible contact. Best wishes!!

SUE aka 5pants

I just got accepted to Chicago College of the Performing Arts of Roosevelt University!! I heard about this school while in Chicago for the Unifieds...and I heard such good things about it I did a walk in. But...I don't know THAT much about the program..any opinions/details would be greatly appreciated!!

5Pants...thanks so much for the info! I will definitely go back and try to find Cate's email! I appreciate it!

Hi Guys,
So excited to check in and see your acceptances. My D will hopefully be receiving her own next year at this time. We're just starting our visits as she is a Jr. This site has been very key in her choice to major in MT with a strong dance component. Thanks to all who have been so generous with their information. Good luck to all you HS Seniors (and their parents)!

Hi melsmom,
I notice you're from the connecticut area. Do you know much about U of Hartford?

Oops, didnt mean to post it yet! Anyway, Melsmom, I read recently that it is a commuter school, that there is nothing to do on the weekends because the majority of the kids commute and the campus is a ghost town. Can you confirm this? Anyone?
