To Soozievt: Mazel tov to you and your daughter, and here's hoping the next few weeks bring her even more good news!!
(PS - Good luck to D1 on her ski races.)

I've been thinking about you, too, Soozievt. Congratulations and let's hear it for choices!! You sound crazy busy. How have you managed it all and stay healthy?? All the best to both of your D's and travel safe.

I don't manage to post much, but please know that I have you all in my mind in this grueling but great process. It all will work out in the end. And to the newcomers, welcome!

Susan,
So glad to hear your news! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. At this point I'm sure you are in pretty good shape, but as I am local to PSU as well as have a kid in the MT program, I might be of assistance in some way. By the way, my D's best friend is a sophmore at Ithaca in the BFA Acting program and loves it. Best wishes to you and your girl as you finish up the fun part of all of this: having a choice and deciding where that will be.

I put this news on the "acceptances" thread too. I got my letter today from Buffalo and was waitlisted to MT program. In the letter it says there is a waitlist of 10 people. (March 21 is the dealine date for decisions from those in)That is ok.it was not my first choice so we shall see. Plus I didn't think they liked me AT ALL. So I am pleasantly surprised. However, My friend got into OCU and another friend was waitlisted at Baldwin-Wallace. So theletters are flowing in now!!!!! Good lluck to all.

Soozievt - I want to also say congratulations to you and your D - what a relief to have somewhere to go! Good luck to your older D with her skiing and have a great trip.

Soozievt- congrats to BOTH of your daughters! Good things happen to good people!!!!

Congrats to everyone!!! It's so great that everyone seems to be getting accepted or waitlisted somewhere. To anyone that is still waiting...good luck.
D got two letters today. Rejected from CCM and BW. Although I know she loved BW, (and so did I), the academic award money wasn't as good as some of the other offers we got, so I was having mixed feelings. The decision was made for me. As for CCM, both my D and I decided (separately) that the program seemed too intense for her, and she wanted to be able to enjoy her college life. Well that decision was made for us too! Although we haven't gotten the Hartt letter yet, it is the only school we have not been to, but the ppl were so nice that I think she is hoping for acceptance there. But if not, the two schools she is already accepted to were two of the three she felt the best about. (And the scholarships have been the best, too!) I truly believe this process works!!!

Soozievt: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! So happy for your daughter. I'm guessing you're still waiting for NYU, too....Hopefully that will also be more good news for her!

Thank you all so much for the support and nice wishes.

Lynn, she is waiting on the majority of her schools still. But this is surely a nice way to be waiting at this juncture. My fingers are crossed for your lovely daughter and I have enjoyed connecting with you at some auditions!

susan

Susan, I knew it about Ithaca! Congrats to D. And now that there are no more auditions for a while, but that ski trip is pending, I won't say "break a leg". It's all gravy from this point on.

Susan,

I have, also, been following for a year now. What great news for your daughter and I am sure there is much more to come! Good for her and even better for you!!

Congrat's to everyone on the acceptance letters that are coming. I've said before and will say again - rejects are okay - they help you make your decision.

broadway wannabe - welcome - you and my son are in the same class. I had a few thoughts for you, one of which mama02girlz said - evaluate the programs - they can vary greatly in focus on acting, music, and dance. Figure out what is important to you. Also, we have found visiting the programs to be very helpful in determining how we "feel" at a school. Lastly, we are like you and started with a great many on a list. One way we have narrowed it down is geographically. Also, it may be important to evaluate web sites if you can't go in person for classes taken and performance opportunities. Also, look at the FAQ's for info. We decided an important factor was to avoid cut systems if possible - you may want to read prior postings well if this is important to you to figure out who has them.

Welcome, and see you next year.

Mama02girls, I've been following you and your daughter's journey, and really admire how you are supporting your daughter through this process. Congrats on the acceptances and the merit awards.

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie here, but have been reading for about a month now. Now that I'm finally starting to hear from colleges, I thought I'd join in.

I have heard from 5 schools since friday. I have so far been accepted to Wagner, Buffalo, and Oklahoma City. I have been rejected from Indiana for classical voice, but was in the group of 120 that was invited to audition out of 800 screening tapes, so I'm pretty proud of that and not terribly disapointed with my rejection. I am waitlisted at Baldwin Wallace. Although I don't have a top choice, BW was pretty high up on my list.

Does anyone know anything about the BW waitlist? I know they want a class of 10, how many people do they accept? How many people get waitlisted and how likely am I to get off that waitlist? If you have been accepted, please call and decline so I can go! Just kidding :)

So now I have to sit back and wait to hear from Boston Conservatory (I auditioned yesterday), Emerson, Syracuse, CCM, and Hartt.

I have really enjoyed reading everyone's experiences and hope everything works out for the best for everyone on this great forum.

fingers_crossed, what date did u audition? and are you M or F?

mtfan, I'm a female and I auditioned 2/18.

do you mean 2/19? cause thats when I auditioned. what time was ur audition at? Oh and congrats on the rest of your acceptances!

Yes, it was 2/19. The 18th must've been my Buffalo. I don't remember my exact time, but I think it was around 10:15-10:30. How about yourself? Maybe we met! I also auditioned just for their voice program later that morning, I should hear back from that program next week.

my time was at 1130 i think, but not quite sure. did u have your theory test at 3, the last one offered that day?

Thanks jamimom,
I don't know how kids do it without parental support. I know a few young adults who have done most of this journey on their own, and I am in awe. I know my D would not have had the time to devote to this process, and who knows where she would have ended up. (Probably a non-audition program for acting only.)
Its amazing how this all works out. At first, D hoped to attend certain schools, which is why she applied to them. After visiting, she eliminated 2 of the 3 where she was denied, which is amazing. I think even though she loved the third, we may have eventually eliminated it for various reasons (not enough scholarship money, program not matching what she wants, etc). We still don't know for certain where she's going, but we have 2 good choices and possibly a third to come. Thanks for your kind words.
