I’m going to be visiting Boston in a couple days and am wondering which colleges to look at? I’m looking for a selective college. I think I’m definitely going to be looking at Northeastern because they have a great science department.
BC and BU are all very good and selective schools, as well as Harvard, MIT, Tufts,…
Brandeis also Wellesley if you are female
And all @MrElonMusk mentions are the perfect list.
Would be good to check affordability to avoid falling in love with a school you can’t afford.
If you are flying in to and out of Logan Airport, you can see:
MIT
Harvard
Tufts
Brandeis
Wellesley
BC
Northeastern
all in 2 hours and 11 minutes-round trip. Assuming no traffic and that you do not stop.
Here is the route:
There are so many schools in Boston. I think that you might want to narrow down the list by running the NPC on schools that you are interested in and also looking at how your GPA and SAT or ACT scores compare to students at each school.
Here is a good article on 30 colleges within 10 miles of downtown Boston.
Other selective colleges I did not mention:
Bentley (a business-focused school near Brandeis)
Babson (another business-focused school near Wellesley College)
Olin (an engineering-focused school that abuts Babson’s campus)
Since this article was written:
Wheelock has become part of BU
The School of the Museum of Fine Arts has become part of Tufts.
