<p>Stanford admits so few transfer students each year (averaging about 20 a year) that I doubt that there is any pattern of success.</p>

<p>My niece transferred from Berkeley to Stanford back in 2004. Good luck to your S, because it is very tough to transfer in. Last year, I think there were only about 20 transfers accepted. I know that for 2007-08 there were 23 acceptances for 1400 applications.</p>
