I'm from Baltimore and looking for colleges similar to Fordham and BC. I got straight A's last year (my junior year) and have roughly a 2000 on my SAT. I can get into BC, but I won't get any money. I like mid-sized colleges (7,00-13,000 undergrads) and colleges with a traditional campus, just outside of a major city. (Basically the appeal of Fordham and BC). I'm not exclusively interested in Jesuit schools, although I've found I like them. I'm looking for schools on the east and west coast in particular, but I'm open for anywhere. Thanks a lot!

Villanova (Augustinian, not Jesuit), Marquette, SLU, University of San Diego all come to mind. The most obvious one might be ND, but it isn’t really that near a city, and your stats are probably a bit too low.

Forgot Loyola in Chicago.

Not really a major city but you might want to check out University of Scranton

Loyola Marymount University (nominally Jesuit) might fit your criteria. It’s in LA, but the campus feels completely separate from Santa Monica.

I would second Villanova. You might look at American, GW , or Catholic University in Washington DC and Tulane in New Orleans as well.

My S wanted a mid-sized college in or near a city and we ended up looking at a lot of Jesuit universities because they fit what he liked more than for the fact that they were Catholic universities (for full disclosure, he graduated from Fordham and loved it). It just so happens that a lot of Jesuit schools are mid-sized universities located in cities – some others to consider might be: Loyola MD (Baltimore), St. Joe’s (Philadelphia), U San Francisco, Loyola New Orleans, Loyola- Chicago, and Fairfield (in a CT suburb of NYC) to name some. Here is the full list of Jesuit schools so you can figure out which, if any, fit your needs. http://www.ajcunet.edu/institutions

U of Miami if you consider Miami with the likes of NYC, Boston.

Holy Cross-1 hour from Boston.

We found Loyola Maryland, right there in Baltimore, to be a wonderful school with all the qualities you mentioned. Of course, you may not want to stay that close to home. I visited there with my younger daughter, but my older daughter goes to American University in D.C. and it might also meet your criteria. She LOVES living in Washington, D.C., loves the university and it would be a perfect distance for someone from Baltimore.

Providence College

georgetown if u can get that SAT a little higher

Most people who like Boston College also like Lehigh and Wake Forest. Vanderbilt also fits if you get your scores higher.
