but less selective.
Any suggestions?

Student loved the campus feel of BC (unlike BU), the proximity to a large city, but doesn't feel like he has the stats for BC.

Villanova is your best bet. It has a very nice suburban campus, amazing undergraduate focus (probably even moreso than BC), great athletics and school spirit (I visited in February and they are nuts about basketball), as well as easy access to Philly (which is no Boston but still a great city to be near).

You also might want to check out Syracuse, Xavier, Fordham, Marquette, Dayton, SLU, Univ. of Rochester.

^
thanks, kind of funny, I was just looking up 'Nova… Student has toured Fordham, also definite possibility.

I entered here to say Villanova and Fordham, but thats already been done =P

Also maybe Providence.

Check out University of Scranton

(We were very pleasantly surprised with everything it has to offer. Just sent the deposit there. D will enter nursing program in the fall. ;)

Another Very Good Jesuit School

Masters North #7
Top Recognition for Teaching
“Up& Coming”
Good Merit Scholarships
Nice Urban campus
Good size student population
Kids seem happy, engaged, and welcoming
Top Notch Professors

Scranton is a small (safe) city undergoing revitalization. Lots of cultural events, restaurants, malls, movies, etc. within walking distance to campus.

Well, any of the Catholic smallish universities. Loyola Maryland, Loyola New Orleans, (not so much Loyola Chicago), Loyola Marymount in LA, University of San Diego.

Villanova is almost as selective as BC, but Fordham and Holy Cross are less so.
