Colleges similar to Georgetown?

I am a junior in high school looking at colleges. I want a school that is very strong academically but also seems like there is a lot of fun on campus. I liked how Georgetown University seemed like it was not solely focused on Academics but also focused on sports and there seemed to be a lot to do in its surrounding area. Another concern of mine is that I want a college that has kids similar to me and I saw that Georgetown had this (preppy, sporty boy). Are there other schools that are similar to Georgetown in these ways?

Notre dame, Colgate, Bowdoin come to mind

U Richmond seems more like Gtown than ND or Bowdoin (IMHO) – good business school, good international, good academics overall. Also, BC is the other obvious one.

I’m a student here, and it’s less preppy than I expected. And besides basketball, no one really cares about sports. But there are plenty of people that are preppy and go the games, so you’d find a group pretty easily. You might really like BC I think.

For the characteristics you mentioned, Northwestern comes to mind. But I think it’s hard to find a college comparable to Georgetown in terms of the combination of academics, school spirit, and most importantly location.

Rice. Penn.

Notre Dame. Except that it’s obviously not in a big city… but not being an urban campus tends to contribute to fun on campus and a more close-knit and spirited student body.

There are lots of UVA cross-applicants at Georgetown. It has similar academics and a similar vibe, but it’s slightly more southern/preppy/fratty, which it sounds like you wouldn’t mind. And honestly, they probably have more fun than we do without the constraints of an urban campus.

There’s probably merit to what @rkw0211 said but that’s also probably because lots of Georgetown applicants are from Virginia (which makes sense geographically) and UVA is their state school. So maybe some of the overlap is driven by similarities between the school but take that with a grain of salt.
