can you guys list out some good colleges that Asians often have more chance to get into ??? I've heard that UMich is tough for Asian and Black ???

Wake Forest
Lehigh
Notre Dame
Vanderbilt

These are great colleges that have relatively low number of asians compared to other top schools.

thank you I think wake forest, lehigh and notre dame work for me because they have business school
I'm considering Penn State. Does anyone know if what the requirements are to get into ???

Look at the UC's - they've all got like >40% Asian populations.

^^^huh?...

The UC's don't give Asians any more of a chance then anyone else. They're legally bound to be race-neutral. (which ,in part, explains the particularly high Asian percentages)

And back to the original question, the University of Michigan is also legally forbidden from considering race as a factor.

You've heard wrong. It's true that Michigan doesn't regard Asian as URM (because they are not), but there is no cap on Asian admission like the UC's did before AA was banned.

Michigan does actively recruit African American. It was one of the first schools to adopt affirmative action and fought two Supreme Court battles to defend her right to use racial consideration for admission.

After the passage of Proposition 2 last year, Michigan can no longer consider race or gender for admission.

All the UC's are in the same situation as AA is banned for all public U's in California.

I doubt if many colleges grant URM status to Asian as a group including the 4 colleges mentioned in post #2. The reason why they have fewer Asians is because they have fewer Asian applicants.

what is URM ??
lol I don't wanna go to CA cuz most colleges have >40% Asians. otherwise I may seek the ones that have low Asian percent.

Vanderbilt.

URM= underrepresented minority (African American, native american, latino etc) otherwise known as not asian or white

Umm...I don't know about Michigan, but I know Michigan State actively seeks Asians/people of all ethnicities (It has a relatively low percentage of Asians). I don't know if it is what you consider "good" though, good as in rankings? It does have loads of great programs though

Soka University, would be a guess:

Proposition 2 also applies to Michigan State which prohibits racial or gender consideration on admissions. The adcom wouldn't know your ethnicity when they read your application.

The UC schools have such a high percentage of Asians because CA has banned affirmative action. Thus, anyone academically qualified gets accepted there.

That's why there's so many asians.

Here are the numbers enrolled from last year for a number of highly ranked national universities. I would guess that those colleges with relatively low levels would be looking to boost their numbers of Asian students.
