so can someone give me a few schools which might be kinder to asians or some colleges that become more selective towards asians??

i can't think of any schools that would look more favorably at or, for that matter, discriminate against asians. But UC schools do generally fill up their classes with a high number of asians because they're more SAT, gpa based.

jesus i feel like every academic asian kid i know feels like its their race thats going to decide what school they get into

that not how it works, have a good app that makes you look like an interesting person who will contribute to the campus and you'll get into where you want to go...affirmative action only comes into consideration if your on the fence in the first place..

hahah, i c...im just surious about this. cuz some ppl on cc say that asians get discriminated at uni like emory and cmu..so they suggest me not to put too much hope

Though less vehemently, I agree with Tzar09. As we are all at least partially college-crazed, I feel it is necessary to step back and look at the OVERALL picture of our application rather than the tiny minutiae.

It won't matter if you're Asian if your essay or recommendations paint you as a one-sided, uninteresting individual.

how about the situation for emory and cmu(the 2 colleges i want to apply)

What situation?

The truth of the matter is that everyone (and that includes every race) unfortunately has a lot of competition for admissions, especially this year. Stop worrying about being Asian and do the best you can to round out your application by showing yourself as someone who is not concerned with the stereotypes of racial association.

Don't be that superficial.

Vanderbilt LOVES Asians.

^ How do you know? lol just curious.

They have a low Asian population and are seeking diversity, so they take a higher percentage of Asians that apply.
