Some colleges, such as Columbia, don't accept score choice and require "ALL" scores from all test dates. What I'm wondering though is, if you take both the SAT and the ACT, do you have to submit your scores from both? Or does it just mean you have to submit all your SAT scores (for example) if you submit any of them?

Only the SAT tests.

The ACT and the SATs are two separate organizations. You do not have to send your ACT results if you send your SAT scores.

Collegeboard (SATs) started offering ‘score choice’ only in response to ACT. They began loosing business because ACT offered score choice and Collegeboard did not.

What about vice versa? If you have a good ACT score and a bad SAT score, can you just send the ACT one? I’m just trying to make sure you wouldn’t get rejected/rescinded if you didn’t send both but took both.

The hang up here is that schools like C & Y both REJECT score choice and REQUIRE SAT IIs. So, if you took both the SAT & ACT but liked your SAT score better, you’d be fine just sending in all SAT scores as that would also include your SAT IIs. However, if you preferred your ACT, you would still have to send your SAT IIs, and theoretically you should send in your SAT scores as well since they reject score choice.

I don’t think that that’s what these schools intended when they decided to reject score choice, as they both make it very clear that they only want to see either your SAT or ACT score(s). I suggest you make some phone calls and ask if you send the ACT are you only required to send all SAT IIs? While I doubt very much that this would result in being rejected/rescinded, these policies are too new and we don’t really know how the CB is dealing with these changes (eg. if they’re flagging the score reports that use score choice) to say for certain.

Just my take, maybe others will have more information.

So even if I send all scores to Columbia, for instance, would it be okay if I didn’t list all SAT Subject Test scores on their application? I took 5 tests, and 2 were retakes, so 7 scores total. That doesn’t even fit on their app. Would it be okay if I just listed one score of each subject? Thanks.
