<p>After seeing the UChicago thread about scarves, I was inspired to start this thread. Do you know of any other schools that make admissions decisions extra special?</p>
<p>University of Maryland sent me a magnet. Like to put on your car or something.</p>
<p>I applied ED to Muhlenberg College in PA and i received a tee-shirt specially made for the ED applicants of the class of 2014. I also received a bumper sticker and congratulatory phone call from my interviewer.</p>
<p>Northwestern sent my sister a baggage tag. Like “Pack your bags, you’re coming to NU!” She also got a laundry bag from OSU, which she felt was rather random, but nice. The University of Michigan and OSU used to call her sometimes, but the only call I remember was one from a chemistry professor at UM.</p>
<p>Last night, I got both the UChicago scarf and a Valentine’s card from MIT. The MIT Valentine’s card has a picture of theobromine (a molecule in chocolate) on the cover. MIT also sends out posters to EA admits. They come in tubes filled with confetti. Oh, and we get a 10% off code for the Coop, which is where you buy clothes that say MIT on them.
UChicago sends happy holidays cards that say something specific about your application. Georgetown sends Christmas cards since it’s a Jesuit school that say something specific about the application.
UChicago and Georgetown call all EA students to congratulate them on being accepted. MIT sometimes randomly contacts admits to congratulate them, but it contacts few.
Yale sends T-shirts to SCEA admits. I don’t know whether or not RDers get this tuff too.</p>
<p>I’d expect nothing less from MIT than a Valentine’s Card with a picture of theobromine on it. Can’t say I’m surprised haha.</p>

<p>Indiana University sends a scarf if you qualify for a certain scholarship, and a personalized video to everyone who gets accepted.</p>
<p>Iowa State sent me a T-Shirt.</p>
<p>Mizzou sends you a “gold card” thing that will get you a TON of free stuff if you bring it to your campus visit.</p>
