Does anyone know the rankings of the Atmospheric Science/Meteorology programs/just what schools have good Atmospheric Science of Meteorology programs? I can't seem to find any rankings. Also, a good communications program wouldn't hurt (I'm looking at becoming a weather man haha :))

Well, it's not the best known school on these boards, but I've heard that's Valpariso U's speciality. They are in NW Indiana, about an hour and a half away from chicago using the South Shore rail line, a city that I am sure has pleanty of internship opportunities. Also look into schools around Hartford, CT and Miami, FL- that where all the national news people generally pull their prospects from.

This is from the University of Oklahoma's School of Meteorology:

Over 320 undergraduate and 80 graduate students, ranking SoM as the largest meteorology program in the nation
Ranked #1 in the nation in mesoscale and severe storms research
Has more American Meteorological Society Industry Graduate Fellowship students than any program in the nation (35 since 1992)
Performs collaborative research with NOAA units, especially the National Severe Storms Laboratory, with over 20 research projects shared between SoM and NSSL personnel
Has established a Master of Science Degree in Professional Meteorology designed to prepare students for employment in private industry with private sector companies providing fellowships for these students
Is targeted by President Boren to become, with NOAA, the leading Radar Meteorology program in the world
