Colleges with OoS waivers

No, they do NOT prefer ivy undergrads for employment…there’s no evidence for that. The ivies (except for Cornell) aren’t really even that known for engineering.

I know it’s hard to int’ls to understand since the ivies are so adored by int’ls, but high-tech companies don’t give a rat’s patootie about ivies. That’s not where they get their engineers from.

Scholarships - Undergraduate Students - The College of Engineering - The University of Alabama (ask them directly about whether international students are eligible; if you get the full tuition + $2,500 per year, remaining cost of attendance is probably around $12,000 per year)*

I can already answer that. YES, int’ls can get the same scholarships BUT, they must be ACCEPTED by Dec 1st (as opposed to just applying by Dec 1st). Therefore, an int’l needs to apply in late summer/early fall in order to get accepted by Dec 1st…since int’l apps take more time to process.

If I were an int’l, I would apply in July when the apps go online. Must do both the school app and the scholarship app.

You cleared up a lot of my doubts! Thanks! I will most probably be applying to UAlabama :).
Also, According to the Indian School timetable, my senior year has already started. It will end in march,2013. So, are you saying the Apps will come in July of this year ( next month) and I should apply then? Also, the CommonApp comes out in Nov, 2012?

Thanks!
