Colleges with PROFILE..

I'm applying to the following colleges:

University of Chicago
Northwestern University
Washington University in St. Louis
Kalamazoo College

And I was wondering if any of the colleges, besides U of C, require the PROFILE form? I've been looking on their sites and whatnot and haven't really seen a specific mentioning of it (though, I could be looking in the wrong places), and was just curious.

Also, Chicago wants the tax returns of '06, and then later, '07, and I was wondering if ALL colleges require this too? I've been searching but haven't found anything definite enough for me to base a decision on. Thanks in advance.

Kalamazoo has its own Supplemental Aid Form, or you can choose to use the Profile in place of it: http://www.kzoo.edu/admission/financial.php?c=_eard</a></p>

Check the financial aid office at each school. I believe, but not certain, that College Board has a list of the CSS schools, since College Board is the originator of the CSS. I really came to hate the College Board last year! I think I paid someone’s mortgage with all of the fees… :)

Thanks for the answers, and I eventually found out that all of the colleges ask for the PROFILE, besides Kalamazoo, as stated.

However, I’m still curious about sending in the tax return forms, as I didn’t see any other colleges mention it while I found out about the PROFILE.

You must send copies of tax return forms to the colleges’ financial aid offices after you have filed them with the IRS and State agency. Both parents, if applicable, and the student, if s/he has earned enough money to file one. Attention here, because many schools need the student to file a “Non-Filer” form, if s/he has not had to file any tax returns. If you can’t find this form on the financial aid web site, I suggest that you email to the financial aid office asking if you need that form. Or, wait and they will contact you if they need that one. You can file the CSS now (or very soon), but you must wait until after January 1, 2008 to file the FAFSA. It’s not even available online until after that date. Both of these forms can get adjusted for accuracy after you have finished your 2007 tax returns, which, as we know, is due on April 15, 2008. I highly recommend doing the CSS and FAFSA far earlier than April, because financial aid offices will give our aid packages before then, as they send out acceptances. They can and sometimes do run out of money! That all happens at the end of March or early April for Regular Decision, and in December for Early Decision.

Also, if when you have filed Profile you have not yet filed your taxes, you can file with projected numbers and update later for actual taxes.
