Hey does anyone know of schools with programs in subjects like human rights, global poverty, global studies, world issues, ethics etc…
An example would be UC Berkeley’s Global Poverty and Practice minor. I am interested in a minor or something in a subject like that and want to know of other schools with such programs.
Thanks!
I’d recommend against majoring in something along those lines as your job prospects will be near zero. However, I’d bet Temple has a program similar to those.
Haverford has this concentration: https://www.haverford.edu/peace-justice-and-human-rights/academic-programs
Tufts is very active in this area and offers a major in Peace and Justice Studies which includes an internship.
The Economic Development and the Global Health tracks within the International Relations major are also related as is the major in Community Health and the Sustainability, Policy and Equity track within Environmental Studies.
Tufts may be the only school with an International Development Hackathon and if you minor or double major in Computer Science you will have lots of career options.

Here is a list of outcomes by major (including Peace and Justice Studies) for 2 graduating classes

@ryanPA @doschicos @mastadon thanks for the suggestions!
@ryanPA yeah I’ve been thinking about that too, so I’m thinking of a minor in something like this with a major in something else.
