really? why would u choose a branch campus over Ithaca?

Because in 4 years you will have a degree from Penn State University in any of the majors you were thinking about. You have many more options to consider:
Ithaca has 6 Schools - Business, Communications, Health Sciences, Humanities, Music, and Interdiciplinary Studies.
Penn State has 11 Colleges - Agriculture, Architecture, Business, Communcations, Earth & Mineral Sciences, Education, Engineering, Health & Human Dev., Liberal Arts, Information Science & Technology, And Sciences (bio, chem, astronomy, physics)

People think of the branch campuses with distain but it is a practical way to handle all those students. You do not get less of an education at a branch - you take the basics there and when you get to UP you get into the core of the programs. Yes it is a different "experience" but you eventually get to UP. According to the web site over half of the freshman start at branch campuses so it is not a shameful thing either.
Based on the science and technology majors you are considering, Penn State would be the better choice, even if you started at a branch.

Thanks for the great advice. Which other campus would you suggest? Which schools would you take out to decrease the number of schools?

more help will be appreciated

In general the state schools will offer the most choices. Rutgers, UConn, SUNY, they are all good.
As far as PSU branches go that would take some research. They give you a choice of campuses on the application. My son did not put any other than UP but for you if you are looking to stay within 4 hours away from home that could be dangerous in case they sent you to Behrend (Erie) or any of the Pittsburgh campuses. Although I have heard great things about Behrend and knew kids from Philiadelphia who went there (probably bc they did not specify where they wanted to go) but they liked it.

im probably gonna pick altoona. its the 2nd largest and its within 5 hrs so its still good. should i narrow down my list even more? if so which schools?

"Got rid of u of Maryland bc its too hard for me"

but Penn State isnt? UMD is a joke to me. If you can get into PSU (which I think is a better school) you can get into UMD, unless you are instate Penn State.

I would put UMD back on and take off SUNY (or atleast one other safety) and a match or two you are not crazy about.

Just apply to the east coast state schools that interest you. Probably the best thing for you.

sunys are gonna be safeties/comforts for me, and its only one application, which is why im doing them. which matches should i take out? IM keeping UNH and UMASS in no matter what, but the others im not sure about which ones should i take out? i like fairfield and quinninpiac because they have beautiful campuses. ithaca is in a good college town and i like it for some reason but dunno much aobut it

Keep the SUNY if you are from NY.
The others I do not know much about so I cannot tell you to cut any. Have you visited anywhere?

yea im from NYC, and unfortunately havent visited any colleges yet other then SUNY albany and skidmore. im gonna visit many in the next 1.5 months

Here is the link to register for a visit to Penn State:
Click on "Register here" to pick a day and time and "visitor info" for info on setting up appts at individual colleges, if you want.
You could just show up too but if you register and take a tour then they have you on record as showing interest.

ill schedule a visit as soon as i get a confirmation from my parents. which colleges should i get rid of, if any? does anyone know any sites with like college reviews to help me narrow down my list.

Bump Bump Bump

Bump Bump Bump

Bump Bump Bump

Any other opinions?

Not quite sure, but all honors = no honors. Kind of like grade inflation there. But you seeem to be doing pretty well. I wish you lick.

thanks. more help please?

Helppppppp!

Depending on what major you choose, Northeastern might be a great fit. Our s is a freshman this year and loves it. We have been very impressed with how everything is done at Northeastern in just the first two months. (S had a 3.2 GPA and 2060 SAT and received a small merit scholarship from Northeatern.)

Apply Early Action and with a strong essay and good recommendations, I would think you would have a good chance of getting accepted.
