CollegeTown Shuttle Reliable?

I have heard that the collegetown bus goes to many great places but that it is always so crowded that they often leave students stranded and are late. Would you say this is the case?

I’m trying to decided between living at the Stafford (1bd) or University One (studio). I am going to be a student at the medical institute not Homewood so being close to the university isn’t that big of a deal. The only difference between them is that one is closer to the collegetown shuttle bus stop but if it is unreliable then there is no point in considering university one. What do you think?

If you’re considering the Stafford Apartments near Mount Vernon and UniOne, then I’m guessing you’re more interested in the JHMI shuttle than the Collegetown shuttle? The JHMI shuttle connects Homewood, Penn Station, Peabody (in Mount Vernon), and the East Baltimore (medical/nursing/public health) campus. I’ve never, in 4 years, had any problems with the JHMI shuttle. (Granted, I didn’t use it every day) I’ve only heard once or twice about a shuttle not showing up, and even then, there are shuttles every 5-10 minutes during rush hour.

The Collegetown shuttle connects Hopkins with a number of other local colleges, the Inner Harbor and the Towson Place mall. It leaves from in front of the library at Homewood. I’ve taken the Collegetown a decent number of times and only once have I had a problem - it was a night that a new movie came out and the shuttle returning from the mall after the movie finished was the last for the night and didn’t have room for everyone, so we ended up taking the city bus back. Other than that, I’ve never really had any issues with it.
