Interesting! Based on comments herein, my daughter expected some notification by month end. As it turned out, the notification went to her SPAM mail. Well, she was accepted with a very respectable merit scholarship. Very excited. This is one of her top choices, though she has several others to go.
Does any know if Mines will conduct future in-depth tours for prospective new students?
For those who have not heard you might look at your Junk or Spam folders.
Yes, there is an accepted student tour being offered. Be sure and open the tour link inside your daughter’s Mines portal. They will send you a confirmation email automatically. I initially tried to do it outside of the account log on and was unsuccessful.
Hang in there. It is indeed so frustrating to wait. There is much going on behind the scenes at the Admissions Office. Trust that they are working as diligently as possible. I hope y’all hear soon, but decisions most often are released towards the end of the week. Monday decisions are rare. It will be worth the wait when you get the good news!
Great to hear. Congratulations! Just curious, did the message just go to your daughter? We received a message about needing to turn in mid-year transcripts but nothing else? We will not have transcripts until January.
Son just got accepted! I called today and found out his application got “stuck” in the process so it didn’t get pushed to update his portal. They had to have their IT department fix the issue.
For anyone who hasn’t heard yet, give them a call because this could be an issue for others.
Last year, many OOS kids admitted in October and November got $10k-$14k annual merit scholarships. While few have posted specifics, I wonder if amounts are down across the board this year.
From the Mines website: $5000 in state would put your kid at the top level.
The President’s Merit Scholarship is based on your admission application. This scholarship is renewable for 8 semesters (4 years) of undergraduate coursework and is to be used toward tuition and fees. A FAFSA is not required to renew the President’s Merit Scholarship. Students must pass a minimum of 24 credits each academic year (fall plus spring semesters) while maintaining a minimum 2.500 cumulative GPA to keep the scholarship. Colorado resident scholarship annual amounts range from $2,500 to $5,000; non-resident annual amounts range between $12,000 and $14,000.
Sorry for the late reply. I am very new to CC in terms of messaging in the forum. The message did go directly to my daughter though as I said, it went into SPAM which was strange because all other messages were in the main mailbox.
My daughter applied by the November 1 deadline. She received notice of her acceptance this past Tuesday and got the top $5k merit (in state). However, because Mines would still be $30k a year, and graduating in 4 years there is tough, a private out-of-state school that gave her an almost full-ride seems to be her favorite choice.
