@SW1807 @yungsnake99 I submitted my FAFSA in November and on the received date it says March 2nd ( not march sixth my bad) and every other date is November. There is one file, the student W-2 that is February 2nd. Lol im grasping for clues :’(
Just realized I have been accepted via likely letter when checking my emails! IM VERY HAPPY!!
@crimsondream22 AYYYYYY
@crimsondream22 congrats! when did you get the email?
Did any of your counselors get an email today from Columbia about midyear reports? Everything on my applicant portal is checked off, yet they still emailed my counselor today
@jeffrandell March 13 afternoon
OK I heard someone got into Columbia’s JTS (Jewish Theological Seminary) undergrad program already. Why is this? My portal isn’t going to be updated until Ivy Day (March 30) I’d assume.
@zbnnycib56 not sure about the JTS but ivy day is 3/28
oh really? thanks for telling me @nicolasdeadman! also disregard my previous comment they got in through the national JTS program not through columbia so it doesn’t matter lol.
not sure. i got a likely letter monday afternoon and i haven’t received a travel grant for “days on campus.” i think if Columbia is funding them, they’ll email us after they send us our formal acceptance on the 28th
“Likely letter”?
What’s a “likely letter”?
@sdnfjlj87909 essentially an early acceptance. Colleges send them out to many recruited athletes or extremely elite applicants and are only sent to a very select few of those who will be accepted overall
All regular decisions will be released March 28th 2018 on Ivy day
Hi guys! I have applied to Columbia University this year. When I check my portal it says that the decisions will be released from Feb 1 to March 21,2018. I haven’t received mine yet :((( I was just wondering if anyone has received their decision, and if possible could you please share the stats? Thank you!
I received a likely letter on Tuesday but i honestly have no idea how I got it.
@loladek why would you think that, how are your stats?
Does anyone know of instances where students get accepted with below average SAT II scores and AP scores? I am really worried about myself because of the fact that mine are below average. I probably shouldn’t fret too much because what’s done is done-- hopefully my essays stand out.
@LazyRay I have a close friend who was admitted ED and had an SAT score below 1300.
Yes, she was a gifted writer but she had dealt with EXTRAORDINARY circumstances and struggles but still made amazing achievements despite them. I mean, I personally see her an inspirational figure. To me, it makes perfect sense that she was accepted despite a lower SAT score- it must of made sense to admissions as well.
It’s all relative
@LazyRay our Naviance program shows that we had one student with an ACT of 23 and GPA of 3.66 who got in. Didn’t see any low SAT’s but it’s the same idea. I assume they had something else that made them extraordinary.
