Columbia Barnard legacy?

if my parent went to columbia grad school would there be partial legacy consideration when I apply to barnard?

Only way to find out is call admissions and ask.

Legacy should not impact whether you are applying or not.

I’d venture to guess the answer is no but if you really want to know….gotta ask.

I don’t think generally that legacy will tip the scales other than in a few cases today.

But I’d imagine it’s undergrad, not grad that matters.

A Barnard AO a couple of years ago said that they only count Barnard alums when considering legacy, but they are broader than some places, as they will consider aunts /. grandmothers / siblings, not just mothers.

Even at Columbia legacy only counts for ED, and only if the parent was an undergraduate.

No.

Similarly, if your mother graduated from Barnard, you would not be given legacy consideration at Columbia.
