I checked my application Status online. Only “Columbia Test Requirements (ACT or SAT and SAT II)” has a red cross. I know that columbia accepts november sat scores. I took the novemver SAT and submitted when it came out. (11.24). Would I have to wait extra few days to see the green sign? Or should I contact the admission office?
@qkrgkfla If I was in your position, I would check again on Monday and if it is still a red cross, give the admissions office a call IMMEDIATELY.I have a question though. Did you submit scores to Columbia AFTER you received the scores or did you choose the option to submit scores to Columbia on the test date? If the former, then you may have some trouble, as the disks may not be sent for a few WEEKS. If the latter, you should be fine.
@qkrgkfla Did you check the status on your CollegeBroad online account to verify that the report has been sent? or is it still being process?
correct,it depends whether alumni around your area or not. If not heard anything, called admission office confirm it.
It could also be because the admissions office is busy sorting through the files. Same thing is going on with me for Georgia Tech (as I applied as a regular dec. applicant).
As decision date (December 10th?) quickly approaches, I would just like to wish all of you fellow ED applicants the best of luck! We all know that despite our hopes and dreams, anything can happen! Still, each and every one of you is a strong applicant and we will all find our place in life no matter the outcome. Good luck, again! #ROAR2020?
Does anyone know from people who have applied in past years if Columbia will notify us about a specific decision date? Or are we waiting aimlessly until a mysterious day sometime around December 10th?
I know a couple of students that go to Columbia and they told me that in the past years, they were emailed by Columbia telling them their specific decision date. One was December 5th and the other was December 8th. They both obv got in.
Question about the Mid-Year Report… For an ED application does it HAVE TO be submitted in order to receive the ED admissions decision, or can I submit the Mid-Year Report after receiving the decision?
@viaoli it doesn’t have to be submitted to get the ED decision. My school doesn’t release quarter grades (only semester grades) so I will be submitting the mid year report when my semester is done.
So is the admissions portal supposed to shut down today?
@magicalcanadian I don’t see the list of all the requirements on my portal anymore, but everything else is still there
Yes they shut down earlier today
What now? Do we get decision date emails, or check the portal repeatedly?
@ScholarBoy98 So you said one of your two friends gets decision on Dec 5th and the other gets the decision on Dec 8th? So Columbia gives out results on different dates?
Oh well…this is super stressful. I think actually the admission office has already made their decisions. It’s just that we won’t know it until sometime around Dec.10.
So nervous…so should come out before the 15th?
It seems that they’ll be out after 5pm EST on the 10th of November. This is all just speculation, though
Right. Anyone applied to SEAS?
Yes I applied to SEAS! I’m a girl from Holland Where are you from?
