Columbia Class of 2020 ED Applicant Thread

When we log in to our status page will the decision be right there or do we have to press something first? Just trying to prepare haha @dr0wning

@soph1112 I live in Arizona as well (in Gilbert)! If you don’t mind me asking… Do you attend Xavier?

@greysanatomy3113 You have to click “View Update”. Not sure what it’s going to look like, but here:

@SaifoSehamy

So there will be a status update box when I login into the page and I have to press that and it will bring me to the decision? My friend who’s got in last year said they emailed her a link and when she pressed that it brought her to the letter @mihirt19

4 days, 6 hours, and 7 minutes more to wait…

@greysanatomy3113 you have to remove the little a from the stuff that is bracketed. And dont post anythig else on the decision page as it is reserved for results only.

@greysanatomy3113 No idea tbh but I’m guessing that once you log in, there is going to be that box that says “View Update” at the application status page and then that takes you to it. But if you know someone who has experienced it, I’d probably think they’re right lol.

good luck guys
Ill be applying ED
Im so scared to click submit even though I’m done

I also never received that promotional email. And I am from the Northern East Coast (Beast coast)

I apologize sincerely for the confusion and stress that I’ve caused you all! :frowning: The email I got was the “Your Columbia Application” one… Or something along those lines.

I will say though, that I’ve been receiving consistent promotional hard-copy mail from Columbia since I’ve submitted my app. It was coming before but continued until about a week ago. Could possibly just be that I’m on the mailing list.

Does this mean that you never submitted your app?
:open_mouth:

If you’re a domestic applicant, you shouldn’t have received that promotional e-mail because it came from the Director of International Admissions and was targeted towards international students.

I know that everyone is nervous/anxious, but I really don’t think that these e-mails mean anything. Columbia has over 3000 early applicants every year; I don’t think that they have the time to sort through who’s going to be rejected/deferred/admitted and send them e-mails that might reflect their application status. If they are sending e-mails, they’re sending them to all of the applicants on their mailing list.

Let’s just take a deep breath, and hope for the best on Thursday. We’ve already waited 5 weeks since November 1st; what’s 4 days in comparison to that?

@mihirt19 2300 in one sitting, but my GPA isn’t very high…

@mihirt19 Thanks for the info! Even though I really want to know, I’m really scared and needing to go through two steps (log into portal then view update) might actually deter me from checking… remind me of my friend who refuses to check AP scores and her grades lol.

Anyone think this process in general is really dehumanizing? We’re just applicant numbers to them.

@columbhiroller Hey that’s cool! And no, I considered it freshman year, but way to expensive for my family  I go to Verrado!

And I really want to check my decision by myself… but my dad told me I had to wait until he gets home from work which is going to suck  I may check it beforehand and then just act as if I’m checking it for the first time when my parents get home LOL. I’m so nervous guys

I’m going to submit it for RD i mean. it was a typo

My parents and I originally thought decisions would be released on the 15th, and I haven’t told them of the actual notification date. I don’t want all of our dreams to be crushed at the same time if I don’t get in.
@soph1112 I’ve always been jealous of girls who are able to attend Xavier, which is why I was curious. it’s too expensive for my family as well.
I hope everyone stays busy these next few days! I am ridiculously nervous. :-S
