ED Application:Submitted
If I may post a question?
I was just about to submit my ED application when I noticed that they do not “see” religion within the common app form they receive because they choose to not display it; upon further investigation I realized they do not consider religion. But, I wrote my common app essay on my religion because it is considered esoteric in modern society and I have faced discrimination because of it. Do you feel this will hurt my chances?
The waiting part is about to start…Anyone knows when will the interviews(if there is one available) come out?
@Skilpadde I don’t see why it would hurt you! They probably just choose to not display religion because it’s not a demographic that they aim to diversify.
@vnervous: National Achievement Program was discontinued after last year. You cannot be a National Achievement Semifinalist.
Just sent in my ED app. December can’t come any sooner. Anyone care to chance me?

How do some students manage to have an interview? Is there some application process?
It depends on the availability of an interviewer in your area/region
How do you know if your area/region has an interviewer?
@skieurope ,
Would it be okay if i set up an ED results thread?
@manmusthaveacode Be my guest
Does anyone know when ED decisions have come out in previous years? Has it always been on Dec 15 or could it potentially be earlier? Thanks
Applied to Columbia through Questbridge! Basically Questbridge is early decision beause it’s binding and because acceptance notifications come out on December 1. Any other Questbridge Finalists applying to Columbia? And good luck to all the Early Decision applicants! 25 days left of agonized waiting for me
What if you had tests taken in October? As soon as scores are released, will Columbia receive them?
@idealni1 Oftentimes, colleges will receive scores a day or two BEFORE they’re released to us!
@Arellia I applied through Questbridge too. I am dying to attend Columbia.
Gradually feeling my confidence diminish, really hoping my SAT II’s come back nicely to bolster my 2250 and 35(+36 writing). I really hope my essays were excellent relative to the other applicants in my area (southeastern states that aren’t Florida), which is something I’m reasonably confident in. Then again, we’re all people applying to Columbia, so I’m sure everyone else is plenty remarkable.
A few questions:
-How different is admission to Fu Foundation vs. Columbia itself?
-How helpful is independent (non-mentored) research if the project itself did not place at a quality competition?
-Does anyone know if siblings have a significant impact on admission at CU?
When do ED applicants generally get contacted about getting an interview? Has anyone here gotten a notification yet?
@WeasleyIsKing425 I got my notification last week and I’m having my interview today.
