when will the results be posted?
forget i asked… just saw previous posts
I also just got contacted by a Columbia alumnus for an interview, and I’m scheduling it for this weekend. Any tips from those who have already had their interviews? Did y’all bring a resume/activity sheet with you to the interview (not necessarily to give to the interviewer, but just to look at)?
@allista I don’t think it would be a good idea to bring a resume for you to look at because it would seem like you don’t really know your activities
My interview also wasn’t really about my activities - it was more about why I want to go to Columbia and why I’m a good fit for it.
@graceann Thanks! I don’t think I’ll be bringing one then. I just heard conflicting viewpoints from my friends and wanted to see what others thought of it. That’s kind of what I expected in an interview. It’s my first one, and I hope it goes well! fingers crossed
Do we need to send in our first quarter grades to Columbia?
@jkman101 no, only a mid year report if you are accepted or deferred
@jkman101 @michigangirl2016 On the website it says, “Please have your school submit the Mid-Year Report as soon as first quarter or first trimester grades are available if you are an Early Decision candidate; for Regular Decision candidates, as soon as first semester or second trimester grades are available.”
So I think we do have to send in first quarter grades, since we’re all ED applicants.
@someonehelpme @jkman101 @michigangirl2016 no, Michigangirl2016 is right. ED applicants are not required or asked for first quarter grades. The mid-year report occurs halfway through the year and ED applicants send it if accepted or deferred.
Same post different topic, got an interview from my alum on Thursday (11/19) and had my interview today (11/21). There’s still hope, guys.
@noahvf you had a second interview? I’m confused.
@someonehelpme @jkman101 @michigangirl2016 @noahvf my counselor said that columbia requested my 1st quarter grades and they were sent
@idealni1 typo, lol, finally received the EMAIL on 11/19.
@nutellapikachu I asked my counselor to send my grades if he could because I’ve got a strong upward trend that it helps substantiate. Never heard about a school contacting counselors for 1st quarter grades though.
I am so excited to be going to Columbia next year! Hopefully I will get to see most of you guys next year too! I recieved my likely letter earlier this month, and just remembered about this site. Good luck to all in your admission journey!
I am very curious, did you receive a likely letter in response to your ED application or are you an athlete?
I applied ED, but yeah I am an athlete!
well congrats!!! @twix123
I wonder whether they send likely letters to non-athlete applicants, does anyone know?
Just finished my interview, there were some questions where I did bad but overall I feel good. My interviewer and me made jokes and laughed which made it feel more relaxed
@someonehelpme @noahvf whoops, didn’t see that it said that on the website! Personally, my school doesn’t send quarter grades (and our quarter just ended) so mine aren’t being sent in until the semester ends at the end of January. I hope this won’t affect admission, but I don’t think it will considering decisions come out sometime around dec.10th-15th. We’re getting close!!!
Has anyone gotten anything about when decisions will be released?
This interview was my first college interview ever and it was a lot of fun. Really cool conversation.
