Columbia Class of 2020 RD Thread

@shivaya applied math and ll

@debate4ever - Thank you & Hearty Congratulations!

If you are comfortable, may I request for your stats? I know the probability of the stats matching is futile but still would be a consolation :wink:

@shivaya no problem and thanks. 2360 Sat, 36 act, 800s Sat iis, 4.0 UW gpa, and 8 AP exams with all 5s. You can find the rest of stats including ec’s on my one chance thread.

@Alamom, UPenn doesn’t use the IDOC service. They require upload of all financial documents into their own website.

@debate4ever - Thank you for sharing your stats. You are a phenomenal applicant. Congratulations and all the very best!

If it’s a comfort to people, I got a likely letter with a 2300 SAT and 720/760 SAT IIs with 4 APs. So just a reminder that even if your scores are pretty average you still have a good chance!

@kurtbastian Haha, a 2300 SAT ain’t so average (although I get where you’re coming from) :slight_smile:

@schroscat yeah it’s quite good but the people here have a way of making u feel like unless you’ve already been to the moon twice and have a 2400 you’ve got no chance X)

@kurtbastian “Here are my stats:
-cured cancer
-fluent in 15 languages, conversational in 20
-saved the North Pole from going into bankruptcy
-2390 SAT
-is jesus himself”
“Well, your SAT’s are kind of low…you have an okay chance. Good luck!”

@kurtbastian - thanks for sharing your stats

@schroscat thanks for the early morning laugh!

@schroscat I remember you from the Harvard EA thread! Didn’t know you were applying to Columbia

Hey guys! I’m a freshman in Columbia College this year. I understand how stressful this period can be (it feels like I just went through it lol) and just wanted to wish you all good luck! Feel free to ask me any questions that you have. When is ivy decision date this year?

@adrianmcafee15 March 31st

@karakoram Haha, yep! Even if I was accepted to Harvard SCEA, I was still going to apply to Columbia. :slight_smile:

: :)) :)) @schroscat
Here’s my stats:
Princess of Sheba
Interned at Goldman and Sachs, Vogue, Seventeen and New Yorker
Published 15 book YA series
Published cure to neurodegenerative disease at 17
SAT 2250
GPA 3.6"
Eh, ur GPA is low. Look for lower stat schools.

@RerunGirl You need to be the princess of three different kingdoms to even be CONSIDERED for admission. The 50% of acceptees have three blood-lines to royalty. You also need to publish at least 16 YA series…slacker.

@GrapePocky I received the “Science at Columbia” email today.

“To help you become more familiar with Columbia’s scientific community, we invite you to explore our website and our science publication, Science at Columbia - Brilliant Blue, as introductions to the enormous range of possibilities that undergraduate scientists here may pursue.”

@IfnousWHO Is it a bad sign if I didn’t receive that email?

@harvard2020babe
I don’t think so. In my opinion it is meant to inform/demonstrate to those scientifically inclined candidates of the emphasis / strength of science and research at Columbia.
