Columbia Class of 2020 RD Thread

@Ayieee Don’t worry about it, mine was waived and I received a likely letter

@Ayieee Hopefully it’s not a bad sign  @czechivy thanks for the slight confidence boost haha

@dreambig98 Yeah dude. Like forget harvard and penn. Columbia is where its at.

I almost wish I’d applied to Penn. The more I look at it, the more I feel like it’s right for me.

Does everyone’s financial aid portal say “packaging” under required documents?

@whitespace Penn is super cool! Same actually, the campus is beautifulllll

@NYCkid1998 mine says required for “packaging”

I’m probably overthinking it, but do you think it’s a sign of admission? haha

I haven’t been able to log in to my fin aid portal. I guess I should get that straightened out.

I resetted my password you just need your Columbia ID it starts with a C, and of course your birthdate

Anyone know what an “S-Corporation Tax Return - Current Year” is?

My D never got an invitation for an interview (and we live in a major city). She got interview from all other colleges – only Columbia never contacted. Is this a bad sign? She has SAT 2330 and good international ECs.

@PentaDad - Probably not. I was never contacted for an interview, and I got a LL.

@PentaDad @Anonymoose3 Same. I was initially really worried because I never did get an interview, but I got a LL too so I don’t think it’s very indicative of much, besides how many available alumni there are in your region.

No generally interviews mean nothing, however if you are close to New York, they do like you to visit the campus and you can always have an on campus interview.

The fact that you did not get an interview is not a bad sign. My son received likely letters from Cornell and Columbia and did not receive an interview to either and we live in a city with a sizable alum population.

My counselor received an e-mail from Columbia. I was the only one from my school who applied. Could this mean anything? I did receive an e-mail two weeks ago indicating that I was a potential NOP scholar. Anybody know why Columbia contacts counselors at this time?

@cvickibe - “My counselor received an e-mail from Columbia.”

What did the e-mail say? I think that’s the important part.

@PentaDad I also got a LL with no interview.

@cvickibe Columbia contacted my school’s counselors as well, saying 5 people from my school got in! I don’t know what that email said, but I think it might be a very good sign…
