I just called and she said that they should have a decision in the next TWO weeks. and that means July. I asked why is my application is taking so long she said it just sometimes takes longer.I can’t believe it, three months would it still be good news? I really am not sure.

How good that you got definitive word on when you’ll hear! Try not to get discouraged. I went to an info session in May, and we were told that it was a really busy year. If their reaction to you app had been “Not GS material,” then you would have heard a no by now. Fingers crossed.

thanks Sally C. To be honest, compare with the guys here my stats isn’t as strong as theirs. So I am worried.

I called them again just now and yet she said that I will hear from them in this week or next. I will keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks again Sally C.

I called them today, and I asked for them to expediate my application decision. From what she told me, I think that they probably have a decision in mind. and she said that I should hear in this week. I really hope its good news too. it’s nerve racking, all this wait has came to an end.

Keeping my fingers crossed.
Good luck to those who are waiting.

I know everybody’s situation is different. I just mean that some processes can’t actually be expedited. The world doesn’t operate around your whims and conveniences. Sometimes you literally have no choice but to wait until the process is finished.

well at least the GS administration itself told me I have the option to expedite after pulling up my files. I never asked to expedite until they told me I have the choice to. And I never said that the world operate around my whims and conveniences, so you can keep that thought to yourself.

I know this sounds a little stupid… but I have not yet got my acceptance package, and I need to know the EXACT cost of attending Columbia for one year. The web site calculated around 30,000 USD and that sounds so little…

ahhh! interview! It went well I think, he was a totally nice, polite guy. I’m in China, so I had it at 3am my time, 3 pm New York time, and I completely lost my voice, in terms of sickness, haha, so I could hardly talk…

Anyway, he said I should know within the next two weeks… I guess we’ll all have to update each other on who gets in…

goharik19: 1270 dollars per unit. Additional costs on top of that for medical insurance and other stuff. Housing will vary, but expect an average of 900-1000 a month if you want your own bedroom (from University Apartment Housing). Maybe 700-800 if you are sharing a room. Electricity, hot water, internet, central heating in the winter, etc. is all covered and included. There’s no A/C at UAH places (maybe at I-House), so you have to buy your own, or a fan.

If you need to cut costs, you can find roommates in Brooklyn and just take the subway to/from school. It’ll be cheaper to live there.

Congrats emm!!! They asked me for the spring grades Monday before they decide, so I don’t know what’s up. I sent them the grades yesterday, hope to hear back…
