I’m now really worried that Columbia won’t be accepting many more people off the waitlist. Do we get notified if we are ultimately rejected? I guess if I want to stay in college for 4 years, I’ll have to think of a way to transfer out of Berkeley after my first year, to a school that will offer financial aid for international students. Too bad Columbia won’t be offering any more aid for Canadian citizens after this admissions cycle :(

I hope we’re still under review right now. I’m pretty sure that we’ll be notified if we get ultimately rejected.

Last year a second wave of acceptances occurred a week after the first wave. Hopefully we’ll hear some good news this Friday.

@rocketdog I pm’ed you!!

We have to reply by monday so you should get the second wave early next week!

Does anyone have any idea of what Columbia’s yield was this year?

If there is a second wave for both SEAS and CC, perhaps they might do them on alternating weeks. I am wondering this because SEAS heard on May 6th but none came off last week and CC heard May 12th. I imagine it depends if they have places in both schools. Good luck everyone!

Has anyone called the admissions office or heard from their guidance counselor whether there will be another wave of Columbia college acceptances? Thanks

Can we expect to receive rejections (or acceptances) for CC and SEAS today?

The last 2 Fridays they have sent out acceptances at 5:00 pm, the first week to SEAS and the second week to CC. But it’s hard to know whether they will do anything this Friday. It could have been just a coincidence. I have to say that I am very impressed that the admissions team have tried to be very timely in moving and I think it shows a deep respect and concern for the students on the WL that they started working so hard early on to get the ball rolling. Good luck all!

i doubt they’ll send out letters to CC today. I expect they’ll wait until next Friday, after they have heard back from everyone accepted during the first round

I didn’t get an email… did anyone else?

I didn’t either. I assume next Friday will be the next wave of decisions.

I do not want to disappoint you guys, yet I do not think there will be no more waver from waitlist… This year was very tough and I do not think people who just got off from the wait list won’t delay their decision;means they will pay right after they hear the good news haha…

I hope I can get off from this tired wait list…(I’m wait list on Fu…)

Does anyone know how many total were taken off the waitlist?

problem is im on the waitlist AND need financial aid. not a good combination haha

^The above two, and I’m an international student as well. Triple death blow for me.

@ freakozoid: I’m in exactly the same boat! For now, though, I’m actually not hung up about the waitlist situation because I’ll be taking a gap year. In light of the recent disaster in Japan, my school sponsored a Japanese school that was destroyed by the earthquake/tsunami, and has been doing fundraising for that school as such. Unfortunately some students and teachers were lost to the tsunami, and several other students were left homeless. I’ll essentially be lending my talents and working as a foreign language teacher at the school, and will be using the time not spent teaching to volunteer in the disaster relief efforts. I’ll probably be re-applying to colleges during this time, so for me it’s not over yet! I’m really excited about this opportunity and am greatly looking forward to the summer! (This also explains my current location, by the way.) In the meantime, you all can address me as sensei ;)

I actually just removed myself from enrolling at Columbia, I’m sure there are others who committed and have just decided to attend another school by getting off another waitlist (I just committed to Dartmouth off their WL). So I’m sure there is hope for you guys! Good luck, part of my heart will be with Columbia maybe I’ll go there for grad school.

Congrats on Dartmouth, altogether!

Everybody just stay positive. There has been one round of admission for each undergraduate school. That doesn’t necessarily mean the process is over! The waitlist process just begun and it’s a domino effect. Not only do some people decline offers on the waitlist, but enrolled students get into other schools and decline their offer of admission. We’ll just have to be patient.

In fact, I am korean (just international student) and I heard my friend got off from the wait list and he is also Fu student… Does it mean that I have no chance since Fu School’s wait list student and “Korean-international” got off from the hell? …no chance?.. Does Fu just take one korean…?

Has anyone on the columbia college waitlist been rejected yet? Or have only one round of acceptances been released?
