OK, so I received an email regarding my financial aid status at Columbia. I did not receive a likely letter or anything, but I was wondering if it is usual to send these letters to applicants who are not going to be offered admissions. I know better than to get excited about something like this. I just wanted to know if this is normal. Also, has anyone else gotten this email and do you think it means anything.

Basically informing us that most docs are in order but I have to submit idocs.

I got the same email, but they said I need to submit the FAFSA even though I already did. Should I resubmit? And I think it goes out to everyone whose application isn’t complete.

Chicagograd is right-- check the “messages” part of your financial aid application status on the school web site and you will see that they are basically trying to collect up missing docs.

D got an email too and we just took it at face value, they are collecting all info to complete your file. Also, it is my understanding that Finaid and admissions are completely independent of each other. So, don’t get too excited but stay optimistic and hope for the best. Good luck!

Did all applicants get these e-mails? Or just some?
