Financial aid message prior to acceptance

Hi!

Just recently I was contacted by the Columbia financial aid office saying my financial aid is complete. I am, of course, a RD applicant and won't hear back about my admissions decision until next week (eeeek!). First of all, does anyone know if Columbia does financial aid for all applicants? And if not, what do you believe this letter means?

Columbia is a long shot so I don't have many expectations in terms of acceptance/rejection, but I primarily curious as to what this letter implies about my decision. Any thoughts and/or similar experiences are welcomed.....

Sincerely,

There is a similar thread on the main board. Actually 2 threads. The people posting were mainly reporting contact that the financial aid is not complete. Most agree that it doesnt mean anything. IDK.

doesn’t mean anything; everyone got that email just to assure you that columbia received all the financial aid things they needed.

well, columbia does provide financial aid to accepted applicants, given they require it. this letter really doesn’t mean anything. don’t stress on it :)

I doubt it means much. Since they have so little time to evaluate each candidate’s financial situation they probably start reviewing them regardless of whether or not that person is accepted.
