Columbia Financial Aid

On the financial aid application, it asks whether or not the applicant will file a tax form. If you do not have your own income, you do not file it right? Do check yes or no?

if you personally don't have an income, check no, you will not be filing a tax document. I think. That's what I did anyways. are you an ED person? I am, and they said my financial aid application was "incomplete" and I should contact them. So I did, two weeks ago, and have yet to hear from them...

Ask your parents if you file a return. Even if you don't have income from a job, you could have stocks/bonds/funds in your name that get interest and thereby require you to file a return. If you made less than something like $650, you don't file.
