I just had my Columbia interview (Skype call), and am posting some of the stuff here because I did not really find much helpful information, when I looked for info up on these interviews earlier this week.
->Get ready for Why Columbia? and Why New York question.
-> Show yourself to be focused on your plans and goals.
->Think about the book or the piece of art that you'll be talking about on being asked
->Show your love for their Core Curriculum

What percentage of applicants are interviewed? D has a 35 ACT and a great resume / recs, etc. She attends a private school. Should she be necessarily concerned if not interviewed?

@Jimkingwood Unknown to the general public. No – interviews are offered randomly – there’s no pre-sorting of apps to see who gets interviewed.

Don’t be concerned about not getting an interview, I didn’t and many of my friends here at columbia didn’t and still got in (class of 2018 here), it’s honestly random and based on availability

Thanks @neuromajor D wants to major in psych or neuroscience with an eye to psychiatry. She likes what she saw of the Columbia program.

The Neuroscience and Behavior major (what I’m going to declare) is phenomenal here, and there’s a lot of focus on neuroscience on the campus currently with the new institute set to open in 2016. Best of luck to your D!
