When is the deadline for interviews to be conducted for EDs?

When my interviewer contacted me he said the deadline was a week away, so that will be…around this Friday, 20th-ish…

XoKiwiKisses are you a kiwi?

And by the way…erm…how do you quote…?

I had my interview today. I think it went well. It was at the Student center at the university of Windsor. I didnt really know where to go, so I was kind of looking around for awhile and had to ask a few people where to go. He’d told me we were to meet in the student lounge, but there wasnt a student lounge in the building he told me to go to. Anyway, he ended up finding me and he interviewed a student from my school ahead of me.

When he came to me, he seemed to sort of make a connection with me. He asked about volunteer experiences, extra-curriculars, etc. Then he asked my favorite book, and I said 1984 and we related about it because it was one of his favorite books. He said that the students he interviews who share book preferences with him usually get in haha i found that amusing. He also said I was the first “good” candidate he’d interviewed so far this year, and I actually got him laughing a few times even though he didn’t seem like the type to laugh. Overall, I think it went well although it was only 25-30 mins.

He did inform me that presidents of clubs and newspaper editors are a “dime a dozen” haha which was a bit blunt.

@ Katy3028 --What?

And that sounds pretty awesome, neuro_hopeful. :)

I meant your name has ‘kiwi’ in it, so I was wondering if you are a new zealander…probably not… Oh, well…

Hahah nopee. I’m from Texassssss :)

I had my Columbia interview yesterday and ever since I can’t stop daydreaming about Columbia! My interviewer rescheduled it a few times but she was really nice and passionate about her stories about Columbia - she told me about going on a midnight bike tour of NYC with her prof. It was way less intimidating than I imagined.

I responded to my interviewer two weeks ago, and they have not contacted me back. Should I re-email or contact admissions?

Mine talked a lot as well! I felt like I was interviewing her, too. It was fun, though, and I think it went well. Besides the basics, she recommended some bars and clubs, told me about some of her most embarrassing moments there, and we talked about 30 Rock. The interview lasted a little over two hours.

Two hours?! Oh My God. That’s a longgg time. But if it wen’t good, then it’s cool. :)

And yeah, nk9230 I think you should re-email your interviewer.

Alright- Im going to re-email. But how do I do it with out coming off as rude or snotty? I mean, I understand this person is going to be very busy all…

Dear __,

I am writing to follow-up regarding our recent email exchange about scheduling my Columbia interview. Please let me know when might be a good time for you to conduct the interview, or feel free to call me at ______ to set a time. I am generally available ______________________.

Thanks- I really am worried that I will come off as being rude in emails all the time.

what does the interview know about you going into the interview?

I had my interview and I think it went very well! I loved it. The Professor told me that he was appreciative that I could meet him at his office and that he thinks I have a fresh perspective.

My interview’s scheduled for tomorrow. I’m surprised they have an alumnus in this area. Can’t wait!

There are alums all over the world. It’s not like Columbia orders its alums to live in major metro areas.

I’m a little bit blown I haven’t been contacted for an interview yet =/

Columbia is my top choice. So far I’ve only had two interviews and they are with the two schools I am LEAST interested in.

Well, given that I live in the Los Angeles region, probably. I just mean in my specific part of LA I didn’t think there would be any.
