Is anyone enrolled in this?
How hard is it to get into?
Replies appreciated!

Ive never heard of a juilliard program

My floormate just got rejected. he said it was a really ridiculous process...VERY difficult to get into. I think they only accepted 2 from columbia this year.

I looked into this program but did not apply. I do know of one person but it is hard and you must meet both requirements and the hours of playing/practicing make it hard for many students to do. It depends on your ability to do academics quickly and well without taking time away from instrument. The quickly and getting it right away with regard to academics.....that is the key. Not every student can or wants to do this....quite time consuming. Actually there are quite a few joint programs including one with law and the one I have noted below.

Students can participate in a joint degree program that offers students the opportunity to earn the B.A. and M.M. in five years. To apply to the joint degree program, Columbia College students must have completed 94 points of course work, including the Core Curriculum requirements and major or concentration requirements. Students then apply to Juilliard, audition at Juilliard in their junior year, and, if accepted, enter Juilliard in their senior year. Students accepted to the joint degree program will spend their senior year as well as the following year living in Juilliard dormitories, and those receiving Columbia financial aid will be subject to Juilliards financial aid policies during their time at Juilliard.
