Columbia, NYU, Cornell summer school how good and how competitive?

Hi I am an international student, planning for summer school in NY, and decided to focus on these 3 universities: Columbia, Cornell, and NYU.

Have anyone been to any of them? How hard is it to get in? (such as grade requirements?)
Thanks!

I wanna ask the same question cuz I just got accepted by both Brown and Columbia but don’t know if its worth to go.
BTW I’m in canada .
Thanks!

anyone can correct me if I am wrong…

but these programs are not selective at all. You need just average grades to go…they are essentially money holes for the universities. they try to make it seem as if these programs assist if you want to go to them for college. Any summer program that costs a lot of money (especially like these programs) is not selective, and will not help you in college admissions.

that doesn’t mean they are a waste of time; I’m sure they are fun and educational. However, if you are looking to improve your chances at these schools, spend your time doing research or community service. These programs won’t play into the admissions process.

Thanks for your comment!

Yeah I was actually pretty excited when I got the email but so many ppl are saying they’re just money making machines … although my parents support me, i dont wanna waste their money on things that are not worth it. but i really have to make a decision now :p

really need some advice!

Thanks
