Columbia Sciences Po Dual Degree 2018 Entry

@jeffnom Have you been following this? Helpful info.

Yes @balkansbound. People from my school and myself had it last week

@SusChangeMaker How did it go? Mine’s in 2 days and I’m starting to get really anxious. Any tips?

@EsperantoLover I heard a Chinese applicant for Le Harve campus received an article about the western environmentalist movement for traditional Sciences Po interview.
Hope it helps.

I just had my UBC/Sciences Po interview today. If anyone has any questions about the traditional Sciences Po interview for international students feel free to message me.

@EsperantoLover it shouldn’t be but honestly since the United States are involved pretty much everywhere you could have something for example about the US intervention in Syria. You can also have something related to where you live if there are currently any important issue (I live in Turkey I could have something on the East). However it is important to remember that Reims is not only turned towards Nlrth America but Europe as well. For example for my interview for UBC I had a text on the evolution of the Anti-Semite memory in France and the role played by the government in it. Unfortunately you have a lot of things to cover.

@math123eg I think it went fine. It started with a little explanation about who the interviewers were and they asked me about myself and then they asked how did I become interested in the Middle East. And then the interview followed with the specific conflicts and coutries I would mention. Like i talked about Syria and then mentioned Saudi Arabia and then they asked me why the Arab Spring didn’t take off as much in Saudi as it had in other countries. And then there were 5 mins at the end for questions. You shouldn’t feel nervous. Just focus on a couple of Middle East countries or conflicts and talk about those. They will only ask you about what you mention or talk about. So, you have the power to shape the interview. Also, I didn’t get an article to discuss.

@math123eg it would be really helpful if you could ask what day the decisions come out for this program. I forgot to ask that in my interview

I talked most about my interest in political philosophy and how Sciences Po’s Political Humanity fits into that.

Honestly I am a bit scared about mine because I did it on skype and there were many bugs. And at the end when I was asking some questions the video call just stoped. So I don’t really know how it went for me…

any idea on notification date?

@H2rF41 Their website says we will receive the admissions decisions on the first of april

Last year it was Tuesday, March 28th and April 1st is a Sunday

Just received a rejection from UBC/Sciences Po. Slightly worried because I felt like that interview had gone a lot better than the others. I applied to Berkeley, Columbia, UBC, and UCL Dual BA programs–rejected from Berkeley without interview, so now I’m only in the running for Columbia and UCL. Anyone else in a similar situation?

My interview for the dual bachelor (sciences po & columbia) was on the 28th of Feb, and I can’t figure out how it went! I got some tricky questions, but I’m especially worried by its length, 20 minutes instead of 30. Thoughts? I was also wondering if the interview was as important as the essays and transcripts.

@bangkokpasserby My interview was quite short as well (around 20 mins). Where did you do yours?

@thoreaueditor Sorry for your news out of Berkeley. Good luck w the others. What is UCL?

@thoreaueditor I applied to sciences po ubc, sciences po columbia and sciences po berkeley. I have been admitted to Sciences po Ubc but I didn t even get an interview for Berkeley. I heard it is really really selective so don t worry about that one it doesn t really mean anything for the others

Berkeley SP accepted 16 this year, a doubling of a class size of 8 the first two years.

@thoreaueditor i applied to Sciences Po UBC, Sciences Po Columbia and Sciences Po y. I have been admitted to UBC/Sciences Po but didn’t even get an interview for Sciences Po/Berkeley. It does not mean anything. Moreover it doesnt only depend about you but also about the others. Every single interview is different from the others. If you feel good about your interview you might get a place even if you didnt for the others. Keep beleiving, you can do it!
